After spending a day in the Ronda/Grazalema-area we quite often take this quiet route back to Fuengirola (marked green on the map on the left).

 

The route runs through wide valleys, pine forests and rocky mountain areas, but is not a true mountain road. This route takes a bit more than two hours from Ronda to Fuengirola. We have never encountered much traffic on saturday or sunday afternoons.

 

The sceneries look best in the afternoon when the sun is mosty behind you.

 

Approaching El Burgo there is a Mirador, (Mirador del Guarda Forestal) a lookout and a monument for the forest guards. Well worth stopping and climbing up the hill for the views.
